TyK is a API Management Platform that it was born on 2014 and the api gateway is open source. I’ts developed in Golang
There are three licenses: Cloud, Hybrid and on-premise. There is very interesting the cloud version. Gartner has been included in the 2024 Gartner Magic Cuadrant por API Management.
Architecture
Tyk’s architecture is the next:
- Tyk Gateway:
- This is the central component, acting as the API gateway itself.
- It handles API routing, traffic management, security enforcement, and policy application.
- Tyk Dashboard:
- Provides a user-friendly interface for managing and configuring APIs.
- Allows administrators to define API policies, monitor API usage, and analyze performance.
- Tyk Pump:
- Responsible for collecting and processing analytics data from the Tyk Gateway.
- Tyk Developer Portal:
- A self-service portal that enables developers to discover, access, and use APIs.
